  • We are expecting 3 likely signups for $256 after Chinese New Year (not from IV).

• Events approval process: Discussion on inclusivity and possible procedural tweaks (Roland)
  • Deferred after discussion from the mailing list.
  • Activities that may meet the approval criteria might still be undesirable to have in the space. eg durian eating club, cigar smoking club.
  • Roland working on the policy proposal.
  • We need to decide if we want to take money and how much f it from groups that charge for events

• Cash handling: Do we have this under control (maintaining float, adequate records, cash box, prompt deposit)?
  • Leaving money in glasses isn't a great idea.
  • The cash should be cleared regularly, so that we can have a good idea what is the returns for drinks donations, events, etc.
  • A robust procedure will be needed for that.

• Electricity supply: Was tripping ever explained? Is it feasible for us to be able to reset when the gallery is closed? Is an ELCB/RCD present/feasible?
  • Unknowingly, a 110V adaptor was plugged into the mains and tripped in our 1st power trip last year. The power could only be restored after going to turn up the switch in the art gallery downstairs.
  • The power tripped a few times during the codeandroid Xmas party but power was restored by flipping the switches within Hackerspace.
  • An ELCB/RCD can help prevent electrocution.
  • Deferred till it can be discussed with the landlord.

• Internet: Still seeking sponsorship? (Meng)
  • Still in progress
  • We might get sponsorship for OpenNet.Still in discussion.

• Acquiring a Makerbot (Roland)
  • Meng and Roland heading to San Francisco during CNY.
  • Alvin mentioned that the next batch of makerbots will only be ready in March.
  • We will try and persuade the manufacturer to give us earlier.
  • We might have enough pledges to pay for the makerbot outright.
  • Roland to come up with a proposal.
