Meeting opened: 9:00PM
Present: Stephan, Bernard, Dyanna, Justin Ng, Alvin, Chris, Roland, Tamas, Justin Lee (Yanyun and Sarah joined later)
- Previous minutes adopted
- Next meeting: 6-Apr-2010 8:30PM. Agenda to include a current financial report.
- Discussion of "the phone incident"
- A guest at the Singapore Singer Songwriters Meetup on 19-Mar-2010 also visited the space on the following day.
- Upon arrival she claimed to be there to see Justin Lee and was allowed in. Justin wasn't present and hadn't arranged to meet her.
- (Much detail dropped)
- She asked Alvin repeatedly about whether various phones worked and whether anyone was using them, Alvin explained that there were no phones available for her to take.
- She was stopped later "helping to tidy up" by looking inside the boxes which contain the phones
- After she left, the absence of two phones was noticed
- She claimed in an SMS to Yanyun that Alvin had given her consent to "borrow" a phone
- Justin Lee has secured a copy of the SMS
- She has also acknowledged removing some of the small magnetic balls that are kept in the space
- Motion
- Future meeting announcements are to list the sponsoring member
- PASSED
- Motion
- Any guest is the guest of a/some members accepting responsibility
- A guest who is present in the absence of the hosting member is subject to ejection by a majority of members present
- A stranger claiming to be a guest of an absent member should be welcomed with caution like any other stranger; the named member should be contacted for confirmation when possible
- During events, the sponsoring member or his/her proxy must be present as "host" for non-members attending
- PASSED
- Motion
- Alvin moves that, in light of her removal of communal property from the Hackerspace without permission and her misrepresentation of Alvin's, Stephan's and Tamas' statements, she's no longer welcome in HackerspaceSG
- Raz seconded
- PASSED (Ruiwen and Chris abstained, all others supported)
- The meeting notes that, as she was not present to defend herself, there may be relevant facts that were not considered and that, therefore, a possibility remains that this decision could be reversed should new facts be brought to light.
- Justin Lee will approach her and encourage her to return the missing items
- Deferred: Cleanliness, project updates and other business
Meeting closed: 9:52PM
